Horses + Cats = VERY Happy Girls!

Jennifer and her husband Derek have given their two daughters what every little girl dreams of having - a cat AND a horse!Jennifer, Derek and their two daughters Sarah and Ella stay very busy caring for and showing their horses and cats.

We met at Hillcrest Stables in Woodinville to photograph Kaboom and Oreo, Sarah and Ella's horses.

Kaboom is Sarah’s 13-year-old black 16.2 hand Oldenburg Gelding.

Oreo is Ella’s 13-year-old 14.1 hands Bay Pinto Pony Gelding.

Kaboom joined the family in October of 2015 and Oreo joined shortly thereafter, in March of 2016.Both Sarah and Ella show their horses in hunter and jumper classes at Lake Washington Saddle Club and also at Washington State Hunter Jumper association horse shows.Having treats around sure do cause Kaboom and Oreo’s ears to perk right up!

We then traveled to their home to meet the other half of the family, the three cats.

Teddy, the cream and white cat, is Derek’s and is 7 years old.

In addition to the girls' beautiful horses, they each have an adorable cat!

Angus is Sarah's 6-year-old orange and white Scottish Fold, who is the full brother of Wizard, Ella's cat.

Wizard, is a 5-year-old blue/grey and white Scottish Fold.

Sarah and Ella have shown Angus and Wizard in the 4H cat program for six years, along with multiple years at the 4H county and state fair.Although Teddy, Angus and Wizard are indoor cats, they absolutely love to go for walks on leashes!
