"Julie was fantastic and getting to know my dogs' personalities so she could really capture them on film. Her candid shots are simply stunning, and she will also take as much time as needed for more traditional posed shots. I can't recommend her highly enough!"

Julie Austin is an incredibly talented photographer who captures the true essence of a pet, along with the profound love shown in the human-animal bond. My family has used her talents twice for personal family/pet photos over the years and I still treasure the images she took of my beloved pup. Her work is so incredible that I also use her images (of other’s pets) professionally on my website. She is THAT amazing! She is also prompt in her communication and is easy to work with. Honestly, I recommend her to anyone who needs professional photos, and I truly cannot recommend her enough! Julie is fantastic!!

I first found Julie by accident. Our cocker spaniel had cancer and I was looking for an end of life photographer.
She was on a national website highlighting end of life photographers and I clicked on her work not realizing she was in the Seattle area. Which was a pleasant surprise.
We ended up not getting photos at the time as the cancer caused skin lesions and that wasn’t how I wanted to remember her.
But when we got our next dogs I knew right away that I didn’t want to wait until the very last minute this time to get photos.
And so we got photos of our dog Mickey and Holly. We clicked on the day we met. I raise money for Old Dog Haven and Julie volunteers and takes photos of the ODH dogs. I knew she was “a good egg” as my mom says.
My husband and I adopt special needs/senior cavalier King Charles spaniels as well as English Toy Spaniels. Specifically specializing in spaniels with heart disease and congestive heart failure. Because of that often our time with our dogs is limited.
So we go out of our way to make sure we get professional photos of them all. Julie has photographed our dogs ( I don't know how many times actually).
Julie has photographed them as a group (we take on a lot of dogs) as well as one on one interactions with end of life photos. Heck, I’m a cookbook author and my publisher insisted I have a headshot so I had Julie do that as well. With me holding one of our dogs of course. :)
I used to think of my pet photos as a want and not a need. But once you have your dog passed, those professional photos mean SO much to you. And you realize they become a need.
While you can take photos of your pet yourself (heck, I’m a photographer…but of food) there is nothing like Julie photographing your pet professionally. Especially if you are like me and never in front of a camera with your pets because you are always the one taking the pictures.
As long as we have pets we will have Julie photographing them.

My first time having my sheepadoodle photographed was with Julie!
I could not be more pleased with the entire experience.
Julie was wonderful to work with! Julie quickly made my dog feel at ease, which made the photo shoot enjoyable by all.
Now I have exceptional pictures, Julie captured the personality of my pup wonderfully. I loved all the pictures, it was impossible to narrow them down to a few favorites.
I would highly recommend Julie!

Julie Austin is nothing short of the quintessential professional.
Her photography work is simply amazing.
I work in the animal rescue industry and what's amazing to me is that, every time I see high quality photos of these wonderful pets in need, I can pick it out as Julie Julie Austin Photography. That's how good she is, and how good her 'eye behind the lens' is.
Julie is so giving of herself that it shows in each and every picture she takes. She puts her soul into it.
I can't say enough about my admiration for her work and her as a person. She's amazing and to boot, she cares about the shelter pets as if they were her own furbabies.
Thank you Julie, for your work, talent and expertise in all you do.

Julie is an amazing artist, photographer and an animal lover!
We first contacted Julie after seeing her work hanging on the wall in the doctors office during an appointment for one of our dogs. The quality of the images and expressions that were captured of each animal of was truly special. Since that day, Julie has photographed all our dogs during multiple sessions over the last few years. Julie took the time during each experience to get to know each dog and was able to capture the personality, heart and soul of our fur babies. We were able to choose our locations where our dogs would feel most comfortable but she also had some great recommedations for the perfect backdrop. The quality of the photos is amazing, capturing the day we spent together perfectly. When the session was over her dedication and talents didn’t stop there, as each of the images were edited and finished to perfection…making it so hard to choose! Working with Julie was easy. She is professional, laid back and was responsive to our questions. We received a response within 24 hours, but usually much quicker. Communication is quick and clear, pricing is reasonable and straightforward.
The canvases and prints that we hang on our wall are filled with love, personality and beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. We will definitely book Julie again to photograph our dogs again in the future!

I met Julie several years ago and am beyond blessed to know her. Julie’s talents to get “those shots”, (if you’ve met her you know what she does to get them too), crawl on the ground, climb into bushes, behind trees, balanced on boulders to name a few.
Over the years she’s taken lasting photos and created memories with those we’ve said goodbye to and no longer on this earthly plain.
She’s generously offered to create these memories for our senior dog adopters, most recently and affectionately known as Jenny (AKA-Grandma G, Genevieve) and her pawrents (Kristi and Jason). She’s also donated sessions to help us raise funds for our rescue.
Without Julie we wouldn’t have these lifelong memories of Hugo, Dutchess, Rex and Jazzy to name a few.
We are so privileged to know her not only as a professional, but also as a dear friend.
If Julie is involved it’s sure to be a fun day filled with laughter, love and lasting memories.
Truly, one of the best in her field, full of passion and love for those she meets. This shows in her partnering with each family, from locations, types of sessions, catering to not only the family but the animals needs and everyone’s expected outcome.
I can’t say enough about Julie, she’s been such a gift personally, within our foundation and for our adoptive families.
With much admiration,
